"Let all that you do be done in love." 1 Corinthians 16:14

W/B 5th Sept 2022

This week Maple class settled into their classroom and got acquainted with their new peers.

We spent time discussing our class expectations and rules to ensure we will all be being kind, respectful and safe within our classroom. We also had P.S.H.E lessons on how we can recognise bullying and what we can do if we think we or someone else is being bullied. During this week we began our Maths lessons on number; focusing on how place value is important to recognise and use when solving number sentences. In English we reflected on our summer holidays and planned how we would write this information as a report. In our other lessons we began thinking and asking questions about our upcoming topics like Rocks in Science and Extreme Earth in Geography. One of our favourite lessons this week was music; we listened to music from different genres and wrote down how the songs made us feel - lots of the songs had us dancing!

Friday was a solemn day for the whole school as we mourned the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. During the day we reflected on who the Queen was and what she did for the country. We were all very respectful towards each other and comforted those who were deeply moved by the loss.

Here is one of the drawings in memory of our late Queen.
