"Let all that you do be done in love." 1 Corinthians 16:14
Maple have had a great week of learning. We worked very hard to summarise all of our exciting topics and new knowledge in our sharing assembly. We really hoped you enjoyed watching.
"I would just like to say a big well done to Maple for their assembly today. I felt very proud of all of you, you have been working so hard and I am so pleased with all your progress. Keep it up!" ;) Miss Thorpe
Thank you for taking your time to read our letter, we hope you enjoy reading about our learning. A few days ago we looked at the story of Zacchaeus the Tax Collector from Luke 19:1-10 in the Bible. We learnt about how justice and fairness are shown and what lesson we can learn from this story. This week we looked at a quote from Ghandi “Be the change that you want to see in the world”, we talked about what this means and then we looked at Ahimsa, which is a Hindu teaching. It is about how Hindus believe we should live in peace with everything and show kindness because we are all equal. Lots of Hindus are vegetarian or vegan because they do not want to hurt any animals. We remembered when the Hindus came to visit last term and they told us about the cows they look after at the Temple.
In maths, we have been learning about factor pairs. A factor pair is two numbers which times together to make a product; so 2X3=6, 2 and 3 are factors and 6 is the product. The factors of 6 are 1,6,2,3.
In Science, we have been learning about the circulatory system. Blood moves around your body in vessels; we have capillaries, veins and arteries. Blood is important because it carries nutrients, water and oxygen to all the cells in our body.
We want to tell you about our P.E. lessons; we have been learning different exercises so we can make our own workout routine. Every week we see how many burpees we can do in 60seconds, we log this in our burpee journals to keep track of our improvements. We have also been looking at balancing in gymnastics; we tried to balance on different points of contact. We liked working as groups to challenge ourselves.
Thank you for reading!
