Maple have already started the new term with lots of focussed learning. They have been practising their spellings with their table partners in Early Morning Work, as well as revising their times tables. In music they have been looking at notation and composed musical pieces using quavers and crochets. They were also introduced to our new History topic: the Ancient Egyptians. They created a timeline to identify the span of this civilisation. Their PE learning this term is rugby and cricket, this week both lessons involved passing and working with teammates. In Maths, they have started fractions and are able to name the denominator and numerator. In English, they have been looking at informal letters based on a book called Meerkat Mail. They wrote their own postcards, from the perspective of Sunny, the book character, about his trip to Maple class.
