"Let all that you do be done in love." 1 Corinthians 16:14
Maple have been busy researching the events of the 79AD eruption of Mount Vesuvius for their report writing in English. They have been diligent journalists in collecting their information and eye-witness statements from Pliny the Elder and Pliny the Younger. We took the opportunity to do some immersive drama to imagine how the people of Pompeii would have felt during the different stages of the eruption. We have also been using our Geography learning to investigate what to do in the event of a volcanic eruption. In Art we have been busy getting our Christmas card designs ready for upload, more information will be coming closer to the festive season. Maple also learnt numbers 1-10 in French and learnt a song to help remember the order. In our Science lesson we investigated how rocks are weathered and eroded by different methods. We tested sedimentary, igneous and metamorphic rocks to see how they are affected by water erosion. The sedimentary rock (chalk) eroded the fastest - very fine sediment became suspended in the water before settling…. Have a look at some of our photos below!
