We've had a busy week this week. On Tuesday, we had our school's Harvest Celebration at the Church and we have been reflecting on what we are thankful for. 

We read Theseus and the Minotaur in our English lessons and have been thinking about the Minotaur and other mythical creatures. We've studied how authors create rich description and have started using these devices in our own descriptions of different mythical creatures. Author intent is really important, so we had to decide if we want to have a positive or negative impact on our reader and be precise with our vocabulary choices, in order to create a vivid image in their minds. 

Mastering 5, 6 and 7-digit numbers is what we have been focusing on in Maths and we have been playing games to help with this understanding. We have been counting forwards and backwards in powers of ten. 

In Science, we read the story of Icarus and Deadalus and tested materials for strength that could be used as Icarus' wings in the story. We carefully considered the variables and realised that we needed to be very specific with our observations when recording our results. 

Art has been fun as we are studying Ancient Greek pottery and designing our own. We will be creating our own pots soon!
