What a fabulous afternoon celebrating the Queen’s 70 year reign. The children entertained us with speeches, singing, dancing and their beautiful artwork & creative writing adorned the walls. The PSA provided an array of refreshments including scone hampers and fresh strawberries. The conservatory was filled with an amazing selection of jubilee showstoppers, all competing for the title of star baker. A wonderful celebration of British history.
Check out more photos in the gallery and videos in the school video section.
Well done to ALL of our very talented bakers who delivered exceptional showstoppers for our jubilee bake off competition. Congratulations to our KS1 winner Sophia and KS2 winner Jess!
This afternoon friends and family came together for a sponsored walk organised by our Community Ministers. The sun was shining as we walked around the village. We stopped off at the church for reflection and prayer, before heading back to school for some refreshments.
The whole school are busily preparing for our forthcoming platinum jubilee party. Singing can be heard in the corridors, bunting is being decorated and the children in Birch have written some fabulous letters. The children cannot wait to share their learning with the wider school community!
The support balloons which were created during Children’s Mental Health week are now on display in the main hall. A wonderfully unique and creative visual reminder of all the different things which help each of us to grow.
This morning our Environment Ministers met with Her Majesty’s Deputy Lieutenants, Dame Joyce Plotnikoff DBE DL and Mr Richard Woolfson DL to plant two cherry trees, as part of the Queen’s Green Canopy project. We were honoured to have taken part in the tree planting ceremony, which celebrates The Queen’s 70 years of service to the nation and the Commonwealth.
Our pupils have been participating in Science activities to celebrate British Science Week! As well as learning a little more about the diverse roles of scientists, they have enjoyed a wide range of practical learning including making paper plants!
A big thank you to the PSA for hosting a wonderful evening. It was a real joy to welcome so many parents, grandparents and guardians into school for our much anticipated art exhibition.
