This morning the whole school came together for our harvest celebration. All of our children contributed to the service, sharing prayers, readings, poetry and our Reception children even sang a song about a ‘Big Red Combine Harvester’! This year we are once again collecting for a local charity - the Hitchin food bank.
This morning saw the official opening of our new parliament. Congratulations to all of the children who were successfully voted in as primary ministers. We look forward to hearing all of your plans and another productive year.
On Friday we took a moment to reflect on the Queen’s astonishing life and her legacy. We have a book of condolence, which the children and our wider school community our welcome to sign throughout this week. We plan to send this to the Royal Family at the end of the ten day mourning period.
As we said our final goodbyes to our fantastic class of 2022, we wished them well on their next adventures. We hope they take our school values with them and continue to ‘love, learn & aspire’!
Congratulations to our very talented year 5 & 6 students who delivered an outstanding end of year play. From sound technician, actor/actress to set designer, the children did it all themselves!
This morning saw the dissolution or ‘prorogation’ of our pupil parliament. Our MP’s have done an outstanding job this past year, across all four committees and our school is all the better for it. So a huge well done to all of those children involved! We look forward to a full re-election in the Autumn term.
Congratulations to our year 5 & 6 children who represented the school at the rounders tournament this afternoon. Preston really developed their game as the tournament progressed, with some great individual and team performances. With a win under their belt & drawing their final game, they finished a respectable 4th place. Well done to all involved & thank you to Mr Ryall for overseeing the fixture.
Congratulations to all those children who took part in the rounders tournament this afternoon. Excellent sportsmanship was displayed by all of the competitors.
