Today we wore odd socks and took part in several anti-bullying activities in support of Anti-Bullying Week.
This evening saw our school hall transformed into a wonderful art gallery, brimming with beautiful marine life creations. The children used a range of techniques and mediums including water colour, marbling and crayons to create their masterpieces. We were very grateful to have local artist Amy Pettingill, join us as guest judge selecting a winning piece from each year group. Alongside the amazing artwork, visitors enjoyed an array of freshly prepared canapés served by our year 6 students. A big thank you to the PSA for supporting the school in putting on the event. It was an inspirational evening.
On Wednesday 11th October, Chestnut and Birch had a fantastic visit to the Shuttleworth Exhibition to support their topic on Journeys. A good time was had by all!
A big thank you for all the generous donations given to our Harvest appeal. We will be passing these on to the Hitchin Food Bank.
On Tuesday, the whole school walked to the Church and celebrated Harvest Festival with our families and the rest of the village community.
It was lovely to see so many members of our school community come together on Saturday to support our termly working party. Pathways were swept, hedges were trimmed, fences were painted & gutters were cleared. A BIG thank you to all those involved for giving up your time and for helping to making our fabulous school that little bit smarter.
As we prepare to bid a final farewell to our wonderful year 6 children, we looked back on their time at Preston with a special leavers assembly and church service.
The whole school enjoyed a colourful fun run courtesy of the PSA. After completing the circuit the children enjoyed a well deserved drink & snack.
Our year 6 primary ministers were very lucky to visit the Houses of Parliament today. Their tour guide was Hitchin & Harpenden MP, Bim Afolami. It was a fascinating day and a great opportunity to extend their learning around British Values.
Many families enjoyed a fabulous fun filled weekend of camping on the school field for the annual Campover. Thank you to the PSA for organising the much loved event. Wellie wanging, jolly jars, bake off, family quiz & lots more! Looking forward to doing it all again in 2024!
