Year 4 had an enjoyable morning at St Francis working in teams with other children from other schools. They had to work together to solve different problems.
We had lots of fun dressing up for the NSPCC Number Day and participating in several Maths challenges! We also raised money for a good cause.
The school hall was once again transformed into a fantastic gallery, as we held our annual art exhibition. We were thrilled to welcome local artist Tilly Wonham who kindly appraised all of the children’s artwork and selected a standout piece from each year group. Congratulations to all of the winners & to all of our pupils for creating such beautiful and unique masterpieces. You should all be very proud of your efforts. Our year 6 helpers did a fabulous job of hosting, as they handed out the canapés. Finally a big thank you to the PSA for supporting the school in putting on this much loved event.
Chestnut, Birch and Oak enjoyed a fun and informative day out to Tring this week! KS2 learnt more about inheritance, adaptation and evolution. Meanwhile, the infants explored animal kingdoms as well as animals and their offspring.
We were very happy to discover a sleepy hedgehog has decided to take up residence outside Oak class. All snuggled up in a bed of straw, ready for a long winters nap.
The children have been asked to think of a suitable name for the newest member of the school. What will they choose?..
Thank you to all of the amazing families who joined Mrs Luitingh & the PSA over the weekend for the big Autumn tidy up. The school is looking super. We now have a shed to store all of the new outdoor play equipment and a fantastic mud kitchen too! What an amazing school community we have - Thank you!
Congratulations to our Year 1 and 2 pupils who participated in the KS1 festival at Wymondley School. They performed really well and were this year's runner-up!
It has been lovely to welcome the nursery children in to the Reception class on a Friday morning. This really does help our newcomers settle quickly into their new environment, as they familiarise themselves with the school. Our year 5's are already speculating as to who they may buddy up with in September - exciting times!
