This week was Coding Week throughout the school. Each class have been able to explore robots and programmable toys. We have a special speaker visit the school to tell us about computer programming as a job and talk about how computers are used in lots of different fields of work. In our class, we used the chrome books to make a program on Scratch. In our programs we created a game where our mouse controls a shark which has to eat fish on the screen. We then had time to make our own games using our coding skills. We also played a game where we had to write 'if' statements for the whole class. This week we also started our wet felting project. We took turns using felting techniques to make a felted material for us to use for our Christmas decorations. We selected appropriate methods to attach our felt to our cones to make gnome hats. Then we used our sketches to remind us to select the right colour nose and beard for our gnomes. Have a look at our photos below - you can also see images of our mirroring and matching in P.E.
