Writing

Week Eleven - Read through the PowerPoint about William Ransom. Can you write about who he was in your own words? Can you draw a portrait of him?

Week Nine - Read through the PowerPoint on birds and choose one bird to write about. Remember to write facts and use adjectives to decribe your bird. Perhaps you could illustrate your writing with a drawing of your bird too!

Week Eight - Imagine you are celebrating VE Day 75 years ago! Write a postcard in the First Person to someone.

Here is a postcard template but you don't have to use it!

Here are some more photos to look at.

Week Seven - Have a look at these Talk for Writing activities. There is is one for each of the year groups.

Week Six - Read through the PowerPoint and then write your own set of instructions on how to grow a sunflower. Can you add your own diagrams and label them correctly?

Remember to use imperative verbs (bossy verbs!) at the beginning, for example Put, Place, Dig, Plant, Water etc.
Week Five

We would like you to tell us what you have been up to over the last two weeks! Write a recount of your time at home over Easter; it's surprising what you manage to fit into a day! Do you remember when we used sentence starters to help order our writing? See if you can include first, next, then, soon after, eventually and finally into your writing. Don't forget your capital letters, full stops and careful handwriting! Hopefully some of you have had an opportunity to practise Letter Join on paper or in an exercise book.

We look forward to hearing your recounts soon...

Have fun making up your own Easter story! Just click, drag and save if you want to. We can't wait to read your adventures!
