Week 6 - w/b 2.10.20
We had loads of fun finding out about what soil is made from. It involved digging! We have made our own pop bottle compost bins and we are going to watch the different layers of organic matter break down into compost.
We started our new book, ‘The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe’ by C.S. Lewis. We have listened to the first four chapters and collected adjectives to describe the four children. We then chose to write a letter home to our parents as one of the characters, which we wrote up in our best handwriting.
We have been experimenting with adding and subtracting ones, tens and hundreds and learning the 3x times table.
We found about Bear Grylls and his role as the Chief Scout. We found out about how he became a Christian during a hard time in his life and how his faith helps him stay strong in tough situations.
We have been enjoying extra football sessions at lunchtime.
We have started a new art project, sketching and drawing African animals. We are deliberately using primary and secondary colours to change their appearance and make them look unusually colourful. We have had fun experimenting with different techniques.
We tried Cosy Cat visualising, Finger Breathing and looked at Personal space and how we all need times to be quiet and by ourselves.
We moved into the Iron Age and explored how things changed from the Bronze Age. We thought up questions to ask at our remote learning session on Monday.
